The Albert Einstein HS Jazz Ensemble won the Silver Spring Jazz Festival battle of the bands cutting competition against the Jazz Academy and Blake HS for the 3rd out of 4 years playing Elijah's solo feature piece, Yesterdays by Jerome Kern.

Elijah was named a Maryland Distinguished Scholar Award Finalist for the Talent-in-the-Arts competition and was recognized as a fantastic performer and will be one of two performers for this category at the Distinguished Scholar Recognition Day.

After playing several gigs as a sideman, Elijah debuts his own band, The Jazz Emperors at Ellington's on Eighth in Capitol Hill.
